I recently spent a wonderful day at Emmanuel Community School in Walthamstow to celebrate their art week!
Inspired by Kente cloth, beautiful woven fabric native to Ghana, year 2 pupils decorated and interweaved paper strips. Legend has is that the first Kente artists created the cloth after watching spiders weave webs. Our creations helped us to remember the Akan story of Why Anansi Has Such Long, Thin Legs.
